Richard Stanton's paintings are stylized Pop Art coastal landscapes. They are from a unique point of view, with compressed vanishing points that twist the perspective to the point of parody. They mimic, through beachfront and penthouse condos and tiny people scurrying about, the leisure pursuits, retirement dreams, and cultures of the cities he paints. His use of curvilinear and extreme perspective contributes to a satire of the illusory ease of idyllic life on a Florida beach.
